You followed the others down the halls of the Helicarrier, glaring at anybody who even looked like they might say something about your hand in Bruce’s, and luckily they all just left well enough alone. Tony didn’t even notice, having wandered off distractedly as you had predicted he would, and Bruce didn’t mind since you seemed to grow more calm the longer you walked, allowing yourself to get distracted by the inner workings of the Helicarrier and the people passing by.

It wasn’t until your group came upon a large room with huge windows looking out over the clouds that you had another episode, eyes going wide as you looked over the room and a prim woman with blue eyes and neat brown hair approached you. You released Bruce and spun away from the windows, energy crackling around you as you only barely registered her talking to you, “Welcome to the Heilcarrier Miss Stark. I’m Agent Maria Hill… Are you alright?”

You shook your head, “No. The probability of death in the event of mechanical malfunction skyrockets in this room due to the expansive windows… the potential loss of pressure if one was to be broken is another issue entirely. From this height the chances of survival-“

“(F/n)!” Bruce snapped, trying to get you to come back down to reality as the electricity around you was growing by the second and drawing the attention of most of those on the deck. Steve nudged Thor nervously, “Now might be a good time to let her touch your hammer.”

Thor stepped forward quickly, “Lady (F/n). Allow me to help.”

You tried to take a deep breath as you reached out to touch Mjolnir, letting the large hammer pull all the electricity away from you as Tony reappeared to address Maria, “Hey sweet cheeks- a room with less windows might be a good idea. Patchy’s lucky she even came.”

Even with the energy gone, you were still having what could only be described as a mini panic attack and Tony stepped over to cup your face in his hands, “Hey Kiddo. It’s ok. We aren’t going to stay in this room.”

You nodded, wrapping your arms around him tightly as you mumbled, “I want to go home, Tony.”

“I know but we have to stay just a little while longer.”

Tony ushered you into the windowless hallway before releasing you so you could follow Maria to a conference room that she assured you was also windowless, the entire team keeping a close eye for sparks. Once you were sitting, waiting for Fury, Bruce got you a glass of water while Tony offered you a glass of whiskey and you accepted both, downing the whiskey before sipping at the water between deep breaths.

Minutes later Fury swooped in, dramatic as usual as he growled, “We haven’t been able to get much out of them thanks to that stunt you pulled Miss Stark. You broke one’s spine and the other suffering from the side effects of being flash frozen. May I ask what in the hell you were doing?”

“They shot at me. It’s not like it was my intent to go all bloody freak of nature in the middle of the bloody street.” you seethed, finding it harder to keep your temper in check since being on the Helicarrier put you on edge, “You’re lucky I didn’t just kill them like I normally do, especially after that wanker pulled a knife on me.”

“Normally?! There were others?” Fury bellowed, slamming his fists down on the table, and Bruce went wide-eyed when your water went to ice in a blink, matching the cold tone of your voice, “God you and your lackeys are daft. I thought you were keeping tabs on me Patchy. Didn’t you find it a tad strange when two twits turned up dead in my general vicinity for strange reasons nearly every six months for the past four years? I don’t even think their bloody superiors tell them what they’re dealing with since they just charge right in every time all willy nilly… though I must say there equipment is evolving.”

Fury just stared at you blankly before barking at Coulson to track all the past pairs that you had dealt with and then seething at you, “You are a liability Miss Stark.”

“What member of this team is not a liability Fury? At least I had the foresight to keep Dr. Banner out of it as well as to throw up a wall to avoid civilian casualties.” You shrugged casually, having regained your composure, “I’ll admit it was not my intent to have it out in the street but with bullets flying at me it didn’t seem like I had much other choice.”

“She has a point, Sir,” Steve pointed out and the others nodded as Fury scowled before grumbling, “See to it you display more control in the future, Miss Stark.”

“I can assure you that I will do all that I can to do so. Now I would like to offer a suggestion so I can get of this flying death machine as swiftly as possible.”

“And that would be?” Fury growled raising an eyebrow.

Your eyes went silver in a blink as you gave him wicked grin, “Let me see what I can get out of our little friends in lock up.”

Bruce frowned at you as Tony cleared his throat, “Are you sure you want to do that (F/n)? You know I like to see you letting loose a little but they are worth more to us alive.”

The silver was gone again in another blink as you shook your head, “It's the best option. If I initiate the change to my other state I can remain in complete control for a time… though I cannot guarantee I will remember and, if do, how much.”

Fury and the rest of the table started to argue about their options and whether they should let you or not and Bruce laid a hand on your shoulder, “Are you sure about this (F/n)?”

You nodded, looking into his deep brown eyes as you murmured, “I’ve been running for long enough, Bruce. It’s time to get some answers.”

He nodded solemnly, giving your shoulder an understanding squeeze, and you flashed him a soft reassuring smile despite you own doubts, “I promise it will be alright.”

Fury bellowed over the din, bringing every ones focus back to him before he turned to you to demand, “Are you sure can control yourself?”

“As sure as I’ll ever be,” you nodded and he sighed, “Alright then- Let’s get some answers.”
It's a bit short but I think it's enough to get the ball rolling again... I'm not sure if I want to make these dudes Hydra or just some made up organization. I just need some sort of conflict in this fic you know? I'm not exactly sure where its going (When am I ever really) but it'll get there.
